Here's a good example.......I said this yesterday.

1."I would rather floss my neighbors cat's teeth.....than hunt with a rifle. How's that disparaging to gun hunters? It's a personal opinion. Nothing agaisnt gun hunting.....nor cat teeth flossing."

We're in a BOWHUNTING FORUM

2.I have nothing but respect for anyone who hunts ethically and legally....REGARDLESS of their choice of weapon.....but I think it gets old we have to keep saying that every time we mention that we don't gun hunt.

Just my opinion.
Jeff, you wouldn't have to say #2 everytime if you would just keep #1 to yourself.

It gets old listening to you and a few other certain members repeat that you only hunt with bows.....CONGRATS!! The more you say it, the more it becomes an elitest attitude. If you don't understand that....read my first sentence.

Maybe I can put it in better perspective. (Forgive the religious reference.) There are Catholics and then there are CATHOLICS. You have your "two or three times a month" mass attenders and then you have your daily (at least) mass attenders. Hunters are the same way. There are some that participate in it and then there are some that LIVE it. I don't think it matters what implement they use.

Im proud of being a bow hunter, but I refuse to berate another fellow hunter because he does not follow the same dicipline as I. Heck, if we were all high and mighty, us trad hunters could be rather brash to the compound bow hunter. Im proud of the deer ive taken with my compound, but more so with my trad bows. Im also proud of deer ive taken with a gun, even though it has not happened in a long time.

We just need to be careful not to pin hunters agianst hunters. I like the saying, hunt the way you want, keep it ethical and legal.

I think it's OK to be proud of what you do. I think it's DEFINITELY OK to be proud to be a bowhunter in THIS FORUM. We should be able to sing the praises of how we've all chosen (at least "some" of the time.....since we're in this forum to begin with) to pursue these animals (bow and arrow).....without worrying about if we're stepping on the pride of people who choose to pursue them via other methods. There's a difference between a lighthearted ribbing and an insult. BUT.....if something is thrown out as "ribbing"....and Perceived as an insult.....maybe we'd better just remember where we are.......which is the BOWHUNTING FORUM.

Here's a good example.......I said this yesterday.

"I would rather floss my neighbors cat's teeth.....than hunt with a rifle. How's that disparaging to gun hunters? It's a personal opinion. Nothing agaisnt gun hunting.....nor cat teeth flossing."

Doesn't it really boil down to this.....

When you're trying to associate with "like-minded" people.....and you're a baseball fan....don't you go into the forums that gather people who probably root for the team you root for? Say I'm....I don't know....a RED SOX fan.

I LOVE the game and respect it, immensely. But I don't wanna have to apologize for being a RED SOX fan when I'm in the RED SOX forum. I might even take a "lighthearted" jab at a yankees fan while I'm there.

Doesn't mean I don't respect that they're a great team. Just means I have no interest in watching their games or discussing their trades, injuries, successes or failures. I'd rather be flossing cat's teeth.

I wouldn't go into their forum with that attitude. I never have, here. I poke lighthearted fun at gun hunting....but have NO (nor mean ANY) disrespect to how they operate. MY SON IS A GUN HUNTER. I HAVE BEEN.

Jeff, I know 100% what you mean, but in these guy's defense.....The "flossing cat's teeth" anaology does sound like a negative remark toward them. I know it's not, but....I'm just sayin....

If you told me....you'd rather floss cat's teeth than bowhunt. I honestly wouldn't be offended.....even though we ARE in a bowhunting forum.

Your choice in what floats your boat.

If that offends you (my remark)....I apologize....but it's your choice for it to do so.

From now on, though....to be PC....I won't mention the cat. How about needlepoint?? (I KID!)

I don't......If you don't want to have to defend yourself all the time, keep your "elitest" comments to yourself.....pretty simple.
