Default Mule Kicking Bucks??

I've shot a lot of deer in my life. But I can never remember a buck, or doe for that matter doing the famous "Mule Kick" like I have been seeing on TV today.

Do the deer you shoot mule kick? Or do they train the ones on TV to do that?Just curious.

Mine just seem to crouch and take off.

I've had them do it. Usually the result of a good heart/lung shot.

I have had a few mule kick, Some jump then look as if to see what stung them and then fall over, had one that did not know an arrow had just went through him till blood started pouring out the low hole in his side then staggered a short ways and just laid down and died, but the majority of them have died on their feet running as hard as they could!

Once with a bow - and several times with a gun. The bow show was a 5 yd double lung shot - blow through.

With a gun - once I had one "Mule kick" into a head 1st summersault - it never got back up.

I shot my 1st elk last fall at 45 yds - and it mule kicked into a headstand - just kind of "hung there" a second - then crumpled......dead.
