What else/other hobbies

I was wondering what else you guys/gals do besides bow hunt. I personally hunt deer with both gun and bow. I waterfowl hunt. Trap mostly coons, beavers, muskrats, or what ever else gets in my traps. Hunt small game such as doves, squirrels, and rabbits. I predator hunt, with no success yet. Hunt turkeys in the fall and spring, Im going to try hunting them with a bow this spring. Also, do alot of fishing durring the spring and summer and somtimes a little ice fishing if the ice ever gets thick enough to safely do it. I think that is about all.

I used to hunt small game, but don't eat it anymore, so I quit killing it. Outside ofhunting whitetails I bass fish, a lot. Tournaments from Apr. to Sept. I used to do a lot of relic hunting for civil war artifacts, but most of the land is developed now so I don't do it often anymore. I have done some duck hunting, but it just wasn't that fun to me, so I don't do that anymore. Basically, I hunt deer and catch bass and that's it.

i've got lotsa things i do outside of hunting and standard family activities... I brew my own beer, wine and mead (been doing it for about 6 yrs now), avid snowmobiler, motorcycles, I do some fishing, play guitar, golf, play and coach soccer, smoke meat, and find home projects to work as a therapeutic vice (same thing goes for tinkering on the mods with my sled/bike)... still a bit of a gear head and plan on start a car project when my son hits 10-12yrs old, a Factory Five Racing Shelby Cobra kit car... putting money away for that one right now...

Besides deer hunting at home where i live in Central Minnesota I bow hunt for bear in Northern Minnesota. IGo out west elk hunting in Montana with the recurve. Make a trip here and there to Wisconsin and North Dakota whitetail hunting with the bow. I do alot of fishing in the winter on Red Lake in Northern Minnesota, they have some monster crappies in the 2lb to 4lb range if your lucky enough. I pheasant and duck hunt in the fall where I live. I also do alot fishing in the summer around where i live and in Northern Minnesota. I've done some trapping. I usually hit a few traditional 3-D shoots in the summer months.I shoot in a dart league, I did qualify for Vegas a few times but I backed out on going(I chickened out)! I might get serious again with the darts and try making acomeback and maybe get out there to Vegas and give it a whirl against the pro's and make some ching. I play alot of softball, not as much as i use to but I really love the game.

my latest thing to occupy my time is bowfishing. you sink an arrow into a 25lb+ carp (or 50 lb grass carp) and you are HOOKED.

Same here. I prefer to fly fish, but will pick up a baitcaster too. I use a eight or nine weight to fish for big bass here in Texas. Fills in the gaps between hunting seasons.

I'm a 4wt guy.....and the streams I fish rarely allow for a lot of false casting. A 17" fish is a whopper, here......but we've got places where a 28"/6lb-er isn't out of the question;)

I also started bowfishing this year, its freaking great!! I like it because it dosnt matter if the fish are biteing when you can stick them with an arrow.

During the off season...if you can even call it that...I fish all the time...from flyfishing bluegill(its more fun than it sounds) to crappie, bass, walleye(looking forward to the walleye run this spring)...I'm also planning on working on the patch of woods behind my house, four wheelers have torn it to pieces and there is no wildlife left...so I'm kicking them out and working on repairing the creek bottom...also I'm going to start a food plot to bring some more deer to my area...probably won't hunt there regular season...but it will be interesting to see what is able to survive back there next winter....

Yes, I use a shield design for gun kills and an arrowhead design for bow kills. If I get some time, I'll dig some out and post some pics.

Fish, fish, fish. From March (or whenever the mighty Missouri opens) through Oct I'm chasing walleyes. I bowhunt in between fishing trips in Sept. and Oct, then bowhunt Nov. and Dec. Throw in a few pheasant hunts as well. Jan and Feb give me a break to get caught up on things and get ready for the fishing season, maybe do some shed hunting.

EDIT: I guess since everyone is throwing in all the other types of hunting, thought it was a more general, "what esle do you do besides hunt" questionlol
Turkey hunt, dove, goose, duck, squirrel, collecting guns and shot glasses, drag racing, raising red and silver dorking chickens, paint ball, building stuff, designing camo patterns and turning them into clothes ;)

I do a lot of fishing, smallmouths & trout. All artificial lures for both. I dabble with the fly rod for trout, but its mostly spinners.

Next would probably spring turkey, a latecomer to thatsport, but man I love it.

And as much as I like to bowhunt, I'm into guns too. Love just going to the range and shooting.

I also follow nascar pretty good and goto a race or 2 each year. I like to stay somewhat in shape working out or playing sports. I played deck hockey and flag football for years, took a little hiatus, but have gotten back into both.

Yeah, I love to catch Bluegills on my 3wt fly rod. Feels like a bass when you get a decent size one on. And the action is non stop during the summer months down here.

I like to tie flies also. Especially, bass bugs the size of my thumb. Nothing like a seven lb largemouth hitting one of those on the surface.

I also lift weights and run, but I don't consider those hobbies....I consider those more "lifestyle" activities.

The wife and I are Licensed Fly Fishing andUpland Bird Hunting Guides, and raise/train German Shorthaired Pointers. Tie flies, leadersand make a limited amount of custom made fly fishing nets from select woods fora couple offly shops in the area. We are lucky we get paid for our hobbies! If I can figure out how to Guide for whitetails in Kansas or one of the other Great whitetail states, I will have it made!!! As far as enjoying something I dont get paid for, I also build a few custom Fly Rod for friends and family, and am getting ready to build a coffee table that looks like a river bed with a large brown trout in it, and a few end tables with large Whitetial sheds in them, I already made the antler lamps to go on them from record book size sheds, So I guess woodworking would be a hobby.
