Todays bows have speed, especially if your looking up a new Bowtech. Set the Bowtech up as your hunting setup, go out and shoot 3D with it. You'll do fine.

Your response got me thinking of the best I ever shot in a 3-d tourney.I LOVE my Carter thumb release but my best ever shoot was with my Tru Ball Short and Sweet II.
I absolutely smoked an open class warmup for Bedford at a local shoot(I don't think anyone was within 10 points of me)and let me tell you,it was tough but I was just in the zone and using full slide bar,long stabilizer and all but I had my cheap $50.00 release smoking.
That goes back to the shooter remark,not the equipment,although that helps too.

This year, I am definately pumped to shoot some leagues and tournaments. In the past I've been a just for fun/hunting practice guy. Now, I'm a pure, in it to win it. I think all my time that's not dedicated to work and school is being spent shooting and tinkering with my bow.
I can't wait. Only a couple more weeks for leagues here.

I will add,if you plan on shooting hunter class,shoot you hunting bow as is,all equipment.You could step back to the mbr class and just have fun.
If you want to step back for a little more of a challenge and competition,go to the mbr class and shoot finer pins with 2nd and 3rd axis adjustment.Spring steel rest,long stabilizer and a quality BT or thumbstyle release.Lighter arrows with good Foc.
This require quite a bit of a changeover for hunting season though but if you are looking for the competition,that is 1 way to go.
