I will add,if you plan on shooting hunter class,shoot you hunting bow as is,all equipment.You could step back to the mbr class and just have fun.
If you want to step back for a little more of a challenge and competition,go to the mbr class and shoot finer pins with 2nd and 3rd axis adjustment.Spring steel rest,long stabilizer and a quality BT or thumbstyle release.Lighter arrows with good Foc.
This require quite a bit of a changeover for hunting season though but if you are looking for the competition,that is 1 way to go.
Stay away from the open class with a bow that is going to be changed back and forth.I would reccomend a specific bow and all for that.
