RE: "Cost" of a new bow????

I bought A PSE X force this summer brand new. I paid 750$ for it bare, nothing on it. After all was said and done for arrows, new release, sights, rest, stablizer, peep, kisser, and broadheads I walked out of the shop with a hole in my pocket, 1,250$!!!!!!!!!! ouch!!!!!!!! However, it was the first newbow I bought in over 5yrs. I wanted it, and Ilove it, and I will sell it in a few years, but I don't about resale, It has already paid for it self with the memories from this season.

I would agree with you to some extent, however there are certain brands that you definitely will not lose $200 on. Maybe $200 under the MSRP, but not $200 under a normal selling price when bought new.

I'm basing my post on MY experience with ebay and selling used bows. Theres an exception here and there for sure. Mathews sometimes sell for more than retail. Mostly in areas that lack alot of bowshops,in themountains and real rural areas mostly.

I wasn't going to name names, but yeah. I've sold quite a few 1-2 year old Mathews online and they move quickly and for a premium. Last year my XT (we sell them new for $689 at the shop) sold on ebay for $685 several thousand arrows later and well used for 5-6 months and after the Dren's were released.

I sold a used BowTech Guardian last year for $750 on ebay.

Bare bow none the less.

Yes but it was owned by you. That fact right there adds 30% buckeye

I really don't worry about resale. I don 't sell them for a long time usually. I like to get what I like regardless of resale.

RE: "Cost" of a new bow????

Bow values are terrible. They are almost as bad as computers or cars. My last bow ('01 Patriot) I bought on ebay, new in box, with full accessories (pretty good, new in box as well)as a package deal from a dealer clearing out inventory. $410 shipped, one year old -brand new. I gotover $200 worth of accessories alone. No way I am ever buying a new (from a dealer) again. It's just not worth it to me. I'd rather spend that $ on something else.

The way some people buy and change equipment, you could be owning or leasing your own hunting land with that same $, or at least paying for a great hunt each year. But to each his own. Bottom line, bows don't change enough for me to buythem that often. I'll probably keep this one another 5yrs I bet. It's a nice bow, that many folks paid a pile of $ for in '01 and it was the greatest thing since sliced bread at that time. Its interesting to see the comments each year about the new hotitems. It's the same comments as the year before, but about a differentset of bows.
