Hunting show I saw....

I have had the same thing happen with a climber stand. Some times I think they think it's a buck rubbing antlers on a tree are fighting. Maybe I'm all wet, but it has happen to me before to.

I can tell you this...I had my bow hanging on my hook, and it actually hangs in front of me.....VERY little movement to grab the bow off the hook, and my buck spotted me doing just that....
Not sure why those shows are aired and portrayed to be hunting.....All they're doing is shooting pet deer........

Guys,
I watched part of a hunting show earlier and was sad that they would air the show as real hunting.[>:]
The hunter is in a treestand at the edge of a field with camera man above him. Along comes a nice 10 pointer, 140 class, from left to right. The hunter is sitting and without getting up he swings 180 to retrieve his bow from BEHIND him. Now for the good part. The bow has the quiver full of arrows attached and he has to remove one from the quiver and nock it on the string!!! The buck never sees any of this, takes a few more steps and is in the clear. The hunter draws and shoots the buck, good shot, and goes on to recover it.
You all know that if that were you or I, the buck woud have spotted us making all that commotion and bolted. The bow hanging in the tree WITHOUT an arrow nocked!!?? Come on........ No respect!!!![>:] That isn't how you hunt.

Probably edited footage that wasn't what really happened at the time. Unless the deer was in frame.........then who the heck knows.

I have a some good friend who have made bowhunting videos and they do lots of editing I have talked to Fred Bear and he told me some of the things they have edited in and out of his movies. It's crazy

In PA we have to sit at a minimum of 35-40ft (with good back cover)AND hold our bows at full draw for 2-3hrs on end to have any chance.........seriously.
Deer can even climb trees here, they don't go to bed...........they go to roost.

Greg, no doubt it was staged footage after the shot. Number one, get the deer coming, get the shot, get the deer leaving. Then all other footage is filmed afterward. Unless like mentioned, the deer is in the footage. Rarely does anyone have more than one camera guy with him. At times, they mount a camera on the shooter and then have a camera man as well.
I saw one, a Drury production, which I'm surprised they showed or didn't catch. There was a silver cell phone in the V of the tree of the shooter. When the deer approached there was no cell phone, when he was drawing his bow, low and behold an open silver cell phone and then when he was claiming to glass the deer and watched it go down, the cell phone was closed.....it was pathetic.
I only watch hunting shows for the deer, and the shot...the hunter can shut the hell up as far as I'm concerned...LOL
