We could sift through thousands of threads in the bowhunting forum and find 100's that don't really fit, I don't care if somebody posts one just taken with a gun especially if thatsame person is an avid bowhunter and spends most of their time in here. Justlike I don't care if somebody posts product reviews or trail cam pics in here(those topics have seperate forums as well). I think this is the most popular forum so many wanting responses or wanting to show stuff come to this one. I haven't posted any gun kills this season in here but honestly I would have liked to just to tell the story of the hunts and the experiences.

On a side note I do think many bowhunters that are "strictly" bowhunters don't respect gun kills as much because they feel bowhunting is more challenging and the true elite hunter is a bowhunter. I don't buy it but there are many that exude that mentality, even if they don't come right out and say it.

Wouldn't the weapon used in taking the animal determine what tyoe of hunter you were that day/hunt?

From a moderator perspective, I appreciate the friendships that have been developed within our community as Vabowman alluded to... so that's why I personally allow a gun kill to remain, though I have to admit I am very hesitant to do so. That may change in the future, as I agree 100% about this being a bowhunting forum.

There is a gun section on HNI?

I enjoy seeing big bucks, I think like Atlas did is great. Post the link to your thread in the gun section. Even though I do not gun hunt, I like to see how others have done I know on HNI.

I am probably not interpreting the question right but I dont' think a weapon determines what type of hunter I am. But in the simplest definition then yes a person hunting with a gun=gun hunter and a person hunting with a bow=bow hunter

I waited to express my opinion until I'd read a few.

I, like NEW, think there are many topics discussed in here (bowhunting forum), and I think that's "great". A lot of us have gotten to know each other pretty well......and I think it's nice we get to share some NON bowhunting things.

I also think there's nothing wrong with gun kills being posted in here......but I think it would be nice if the poster stated something about it in the title, too. I'm no bowhunting "elitist".....but killing a big game animal with a firearm is about as far down on the list of things "I" wanna do as flossing the neighbor's cat's teeth is. I just have no interest. Hence....why I choose THIS forum. I can understand why people love gun hunting (I used to hunt waterfowl....which is below cat tooth flossing on MANY people's list!), and I have NOTHING against it, at all.

Just something I've noticed, lately (Gun kills finding their way into this forum).

Like NEW61375 was saying. People post trail cam pics up by themselves. They arent bowhunting, should'nt they only be posted in their forum. "But they are bowhunters" Well arent most who post gun kills???
I dont think it matters there are more peple on here than all others maybe even combined. Dont be stinggey, as long as its hunting, does it really matter??? Besides they, well we post them because we feel proud of the deer adn just want others to see them

That's a good idea. That way if you're bowhunting comrades want to look at your gun hunting exploits they have a quick link without having to sift through the entire deer hunting forum.Really there is no gun hunting forum it is deer hunting so I guess that is the meltingpotand you definitely see all categories of kills in there.

Since this is the bowhunting forum, I'd prefer that "gun" deer be posted in the appropriate forum. Many of us on this forum use bows for ALL the seasons and know the feeling of seeing a very nice buck that would've been a "slam-dunk" with a gun, but just wouldn't allow a bow shot -- I just had that happen about 2 hours ago. Since it BOWhunting, let's keep the kills BOWkills.

BTW--this post is NOT directed at anyone. It's just my opinion.
