How do you get your confidence back?

RE: How do you get your confidence back?
I used to practice the ranges you spoke of. I decided later that it wasn't necessary for me to do that. I will never shoot a deer past 30 yards with a bow so why practice at 60? That was wasted time as far as I'm concerned. I shoot indoor dart (computer) league in the winter after deer season and 3-D shoot most of the spring and summer. That has helped me to judge ranges better and there is hardly ever a 3-D target more than 35 40 yards. That's all the range I need.

This is a great post! I am in a big funk myself. I hit a buck last week, and never did recover him. (I think he lived to see another day) I know that it is a big case of buck fever in my situation. I just get so worked up, that everything is a blur for me. I know I will be trying some of these ideas out.

I do not claim to be a saint myself, took me 2 days to find a buck this year. I think the main thing from this is that you have learnt something from each of your experiences and know what you did wrong. If a situation presents like that again you will do things differently. That is what helps me.

When I miss a shot I take my target and shoot at it for about an hour or so to get my confidence up. I also will invite my friend over and we will have shooting competitions and that usually makes it more fun and interesting.
But sorry about the deer.
