Default Last week end

The Revand me went to South Texas last week end for a little Axishunting.

We got there around 4pm Friday, the land owner told us that if we see any white goats they are to die. After chatting with her for a few minutes at the lodge we seen a mob of goats crossing the road heading for a feeder then they turned and headed back into the scrub, the feeder had not gone off.

So I put on my camo top grabbed the bow and headed out, found the spot they where coming under the fence and sat on the down wind side, After about 10 minutes the goats came back, 3 goats past me and a white one came under the fence so I drew back and waited for it to to move into a clear shooting lane, well one of her Ibex goats walked right up beside the cross breed I held at full draw for a good 5 minutes before they turned and went back under the fence and into the scrub[:@].

We got up about 0dark 30 on Saturday morning and headed out for the Axis we hunted all day and the only thing we came across was some Whitetail doe's so no shot was taken.

Sunday again we got up at 0dark30 and headed out but this time I decided that I would sit near a feeder seeing there was a real heavy fog and we wanted to put some meat in the freezer.

Just after daylight a 3yr old spike Axis buck came down the trail to the feeder and even tho we could have taken any Axis we wanted I decided to take the spike to get him out of the herd. Just as I was about to start to track him, whena mob of Axis doe's came down the trail so I waited, they stopped short of a clear shooting lane, they seemed to be real nervious about something then bolted. They had no sooner gone and a huge boar came down the same trail so I am guessing they he spooked the Doe's, the boar stopped right in the clear lane so I drew back and intoduced him to one of Woodie's Supreme's single bevel broad heads.

Now I have 2 animals on the ground in very short time, both of them headed towards the feeder so I started to track them got about 20 yards from the feeder and heard a noise, it was a 2 1/2 yr old whitetail buck with a small 4 point rack one that should not be allowed to breed and seeing we had permission to take out any cull whitetail bucks I decided hey why not, loaded up another arrow drew back settled the pin and let fly another Supreme made a perfect heart shot on him.

All the time we had the video camera going but the footage did not turn out that good due to the heavy fog.

Here is a little snippet of the Whitetail buck as you can see when I took the shot the fog was real heavy, unfortunately when we looked at the rest of the video all we had was white fog. I sure would have loved to get the other 2 kills on video but it was not meant to be oh well maybe next time there wont be a heavy fog.
