How many of you have mounted a deer?

Like you Kent I have nothing but euros. I haven't killed anything big enough to justify a taxi. i would mount either of the 2 you killed this year.

I've got several whitetails done but nothing else but a bear rug.. I'd like to have more, but its expensive.. I have a nice 7x7 bull I killed a few years back I would like to have done.. someday I hope to have a few full body critters.. done.. Bear, turkey, whitetail, bobcat, cougar.. etc.. long ways off though... for now its whitetails..

MOUNTS OR TROPHYS ARE IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER. i KNOW IT SOUNDS CHEEZY BUT THAT IS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE. DO NOT LET OTHER S DICTATE WHAT YOU PUT ON THE WALL. YOU HAVCE YOUR REASONS, RIGHT, WRONG , OR INDIFFERENT. SO I SAY MOUNT UP.[8D]

The 6 I shot this year will be my first. I wasn't going to get it mounted but my Dad looked at me and said you know you will kill many that are larger, but he is a good one and your best as of today. You only live once........
I'm excited to see the mount when it's done.

I have two. Neither are real big. My first ever buck and my first bow buck. I figured as much as I spent to get into the sport and as much time as I spent these animals deserved to go on the wall. I am guessing neither is over 100" but I am very proud of both of them. I don't know what kind of deer it would take to go on the wall now. But for me, the actual hunt was part of the reason I mounted the first two. Same might could be said for the next one.

I have done several in a European mount, but never the whole deal at the taxidermist. If I ever get one that makes Pope and Young (my buck from November 8th is going to be close) I will go see the good folks at Timberline Taxidermy in Colorado Springs. Also, my wife doesn't like the eyeballs looking at her. So any mount is going to have to go in the shop or the office.

I have 3 head mounts and one on the way. I have at least 6 or 7 on plaques that are mountable deer. I mount them depending on symetry, mass, height, length, where I killed them, what the circumstances were etc... Not all deer are mountable to me, however, someone else may have different expectations.
