I've used Muzzy 3 blades with a grasshopper behind it in the past for turkeys. I decided to try some Mechanical BH's instead as I've heard they are great for turkeys. I picked up some Shockwaves. I figured it would take very little pressure to open these up but it seemed to take quite a bit of pressure. I'm wondering if they will open properly and consistently when used for turkeys. Any help would be appreciated.

Don't worry, the shockwaves are one of the quickest opening heads. I have taken 3 turkeys with them, but I now prefer a larger cutting diameter head like the spitfire. I used them on 2 turkeys, and they worked great too. Now I'm going to try the 2 inch cut vortexes next. You can put an adder point behind your broadheads too, they really put a hole in em.

I am with Big John here. The shockwaves will work great on turkey, they open plenty fast and the blades are sharp!
