I think it depends where you are. Most of Long Island has been prett darn slow. I personally havent seen much activity.

Chemung County here ( Elmira area ) Lots of rubs, but bucks and does are still separated.

Lots of chasing going on in Tioga county right now.Up until last week it was pretty slow but things picked up the few days.

All I can say is it's been an odd year. Some guys claim to be seeing movement and others just aren't. I fall on the side of thinking that rut is about a week or 2 late.

I have said on numerous occasions that the rut in NY occurs more often during shotgun season then not. This year looks to be the same.

Our DEC is the biggest joke in the country for pretending they don't know this.

Ok..Just my 2cent's...I belive that it was early this year like the last week in Oct..into the second week of November.. I belive that shotgun season will be a very unproductive...Again just my 2 cent's...keep your comment's to yourself...

yates county, I have seen bucks big and small chasing does the last 2 wks. but the last 2 days have been unproductive. There are still a lot of does that haven't been pressured by bucks and are still with fawns. I have only seen a few does seperated so far.

Same here in Southern Indiana, I didn't see any at all this past weekend, and only just yesterday saw two does crossing a road as I drove home. Normally there would be a lot more activity here, though I've been assured by others that the rut is in fact on. Must be the temps...
