ORIGINAL: HuntingBry

Do you guys have any little bucks in WI?

Congrats those are some great deer.
These were all little once upon a time. We didn't even get some of the real big boyz. There is still a few monsters that we were hintin runin around. The buck I was hunting looks just like the one I shot only 3 inches taller on all tines, about 20 inches wide, and really heavy. Buck my buddy with the big 8 has seen is a ten about 24 inches wide, bases like pop cans, and g2s and 3s about 14 inches long. He's a beast. There is afew other good bucks runnin around that I hope to see next year as well. WCL

Nice bucks. I have a 100 acres in Trempealeau county too. I scored on a 160+ last year but I don't have near the amount of quality bucks that you do. Where are you at (my land is between Independnce and Gilmanton) and how many acres to you have control of? I need to get my neighbors to start shooting only quality deer.

Not sure how I can.........

I live in Trempealeau as well as two other buddies, one of them is the kidwith the big 8. We hunt up between galesville and north bend. Hardies Creek area. The farm I hunt on is only about 200 acres but between the 3 brothers I think they own around 800-900 acres. The other farms are huned by guys I dont really know but they have killed a couple dandys this year to I heard. The neighboring farm is my buddys and its about 200 acres but he hasnt shot a buck yet. My buddys farm that the first two big ones and then the other one that was video taped is about a1 mile up the road from my spot and actually boarders the corner of one of the 3 brothers land with the 900,and is about a 500 acre farmI think. Then my buddy who owns the 200, his grandpa owns about 250 acres that boarders the 500 acre farm.... The buffalo county farm is about 350 acres but borders 3 different 400-500 acre farms that a few people hunt but are terrible at hunting and never kill anything except maybe one or two during the gun hunt..... So we have some pretty good managemnet goin on. All these farms are a minimum of 16 inches wide/outside of the ears. We were after a few other monsters that will make any of these bcks look tiny but we never really saw em. Hopefully we'll get em with the guns, as much as i hate to say it cuz I'drather shoot deer with the bows but these couple bucks are at their peek and aren't gonna get any bigger. WCL

Sounds like you have some acreage and some pretty decent management going on. I agree about rather shooting bucks with the bow but sometimes you just need to get them with the rifle. Good luck this season. i look forward to an update.
