Hunting Log - November 6, 2007

So, is anyone out there hunting? Going out? Home already? Any action? I'm stuck here at work until Thursday. I'm living vicariously through you guys for today and tomorrow.
I got a txt update from Rybo earlier - saw a spike and a fewdoe as of 8:00.
On this date last year, I was hunting before work everyday. Here's my logbook entry:
Val's Farm - Southwest corner saddle stand location - gas well entry.
40 degrees.Ideal conditions - standard thermals - no perceivable wind - low pressure stable.
3x4 shadowing a doe, crossed 10-15 yds out. Maybe 13" wide, decent tine length. Still too early to take him. Mother and two fawns crossed just as I was getting down. Off to work. Really wish I had all day to burn in there. Left 2 hooks hanging in the tree for the next hunt.

Winds are pretty crazy here, so I sat the morning out. My brother went out and saw 2 young bucks.
I will probably go out this afternoon.... Sustained winds in the 20 mph range and gusts are predicted into the high 30's [
]I think Ryan (Rybo)ended up seeing another buck as well.

To finish off the evening, I had 3 more bucks come in and 2 does.
A scrub, a decent 2 year old, and a high racked shooter. The shooter was making a B-line to me after having grunted at him. With about 5 more yds that he needed to come, 2 deer bust over the crest of the hill(buck chasing a doe) and he went after them. Opportunity gone in an instant.
This was probably the most trying day I spent in the woods. no deer from 830 am to 600 pm. And winds harder than I have ever endured without getting out of my stand.
