Seems to me like you guys are just lazy. If you take pride in harversting deer then taking quality pictures should go hand and hand.
I agree, but my idea of a quality picture and yours may be different, that is all. I clean my deer up as best I can, but if some other guy wants to remember his animal exactly how he walked up on it, then more power to him. I don't think that those pictures should be placed just anywhere, but here on a hunting specific site I do not see a problem. That is just me though.

That's a pretty brash statement, considering how much time and effort many of us on here put into this sport. Now, with that said, I do agree with on you taking quality pictures. I try to take good pictures for myself - not to be polite to the non hunting community. However, I do feel that some of these poorly setup pictures can be detrimental to our sport. These pictures don't fuel the fire so much for the antis themselves but can sway those who are on the fence on the issue. Anti's are already against what we do. We can't change that by cleaning up a picture, just a fact. But bad pictures can sway someone who didn't really have much of an opinion before seeing aforementioned pictures. So taking good pictures should be for the individual and for showing the beauty of the animal - that is something that those who are on the fence, hopefully, won't be offended by.

It really doesn't take much effort to turn a terrible picture into an incredible picture. All Schultzy is asking for is a touch of effort. That's not too much to ask.

And I agree with that, but maybe for different reasons...

I agree with James. And Shultzy. It doesn't take too much time, and it goes along way.

Thanks guys and girls! I wasn't asking no one to give the deer a shower, just asking everyone if maybe in the future when they take pics to think about what a non hunter may think of them.

And just because I have a million examples of what to, and what not to do as far as taking pictures goes, I thought I would throw in an example.

What NOT to do:

What TO DO when taking pictures:
Weapon, Animal, Outdoor Location, Full Flash, Clean-Up Blood, SMILE!

More than one person in the picture? No problem, Hunter goes closest to the Horns!

Definitley agree you should clean up your buck, espeically since most of the pics I see on here are from trophy hunters. You go through all that time and effort to kill a nice buck and there is blood and guts everywhere with the tongue hanging out. It is not appealing or cool looking at all. We are all aware of the blood and guts that come from killing a deer. You got a buck, now clean it up and take a good picture that people will always appreciate.

i often thought of that....and actually stopped saying "kill" and used "harvested" or "got" instead...but then i got to thinkin...

why sugar coat it?? i KILLED the animal. YES the holes i put through it bled. yep...blood REALLY comes out of the mouth and nose with certain hits. YEP the tounge really DOES hang out...

i clean up for some pictures for the PICTURES purpose...not because i dont want anyone to see the reality of things, i take those pics first...

i wont hesitate to show holes on skinned out deer...i wont hesitate to show what my 22-250 does to a groundhog...

thats reality...why sugar coat things just because "they" are most likely watching? we are hunters...

after doing research all day for my speech tomarrow, im coninced THEY know very little...and they dont have any real strong arguments and LOVE to contradict themselves...

ya, blood and guts and gore isnt things non hunters like to see...but thats reality...this is life...thats my opinion on the topic...

not saying your WRONG..i thought the same way for a while...but in the end, it really doesnt matter...we are hunters..PERIOD..they KNOW what happens....

heck of alot more humane than NATURE. starvation, disease, car accidents, predation etc...all of which they say is "nature taking its course" sure it is...but a bullet or arrow placed through the vitals is alot more humane then getting eaten alive by a pack of yotes!!
Our opinion:)...Well said.
