This is the first year that I have ever hunted farmland/foodplots. Would I be foolish to hunt the field edges in the morning? The only times I have to hunt is mornings, and nearly all the buck sign is right along the edges of the fields and food plot. I have been hunting for a long time but I have never hunted fields or foodplots before so I am still trying to figure out the best way to go about it. Any advice would be appreciated...

Hunt where the sign is. I am not a big fan of hunting fields with a bow but that is my opinion. Most of the time the good bucks won't enter a field until dark or close to it that's how they got to be good bucks. So what I would do is hunt close to the fields in the woods near the sign and try to catch them traveling to and from.

I have had pretty good luck on fields in the A.M. during the chase phase. You have to be careful about getting to your stand if there are deer using the field in the morning when you come in. You will bump them, but during the rut you never know what is coming. It can't hurt to try.

Like dtk said during the rut anything is possible weather your hunting field edges or in the woods. You may want to go out to your stand through the woods instead of going through thefield in the morningso you don't spook everything.
