[align=left]Hello to all. I’ve been lurking around here for a few months now. I haven’t posted, but have gotten plenty of tips and tricks from you guys. New to the site, new to bow hunting, but not new to deer hunting.[/align][align=left][/align][align=left]Here is my question. I live in Indiana and have been out in the woods every weekend since bow season has started. I hunt a low pressure 80 acres. I consists of two fields, a small woods, a creek and thick treelines. I’ve seen a pretty nice 10 point and numerous does on the property. Just nothing close enough that I feel comfortable shooting at. I really want to go in the evening after I get off work. I get off at 5. It takes 30 min to get to the property I hunt. I wouldn’t get to my stand until almost 6:00. The Sun sets around 6:50. Indiana is a half hour after sunset state. Would I have a good chance at seeing something in that short of time. Or should I just stay out of the stand and wait until the weekends?[/align][align=left][/align]Thanks for the help.

If your boss will let you, try to come in early or take a short lunch. In my case, I try to come in at 7:45 and that way I can leave at 4:45 and beat the 5:00 rush traffic. That saves valuable time and I can bein one of my trees by 5:20 or a different area by around 5:35-5:40.

If you could get set up quickly and quietly you would have the best part of the day to hunt! I'd do it.

I do that identical thing on my farm consistently. Things you have to do though is be able to slip into your stand completely silently and undetected. The deer can be and often will be up and moving by then so you have to be very careful. The second thing is to glass the area and move in slowly. If there are deer around your stand just go home or go somewhere else. The worst thing you could do now is spook them. As long as they don't know they are being hunted they will stick around. Once you spook them they will be nervous in that area for a long time. Also, once you are in the stand get ready as quick as possible. One could come in at any moment that late in the evening. Quick answer, if you can get in and out undetected, get in there, it's magic hour. If you cannot get in without busting deer, don't go. Simple.

Keep in mind that you won't have time to shower so watch the wind. If the wind is in your favor get out there!

Thats cutting it real close. Something else to consider, your going to be draging lots of stink with you. Dont want to spook anything. That big boy might be in there, and you might spook him with out ever knowing. Id get off early, or wait till you have time. You could still hunt the area, but you would not have the time needed to cover any ground.
