Earn A Buck scam
#21
Sometimes im glad NY dont get into all of those restrictions, all we have is hunting seasons and thats is. It is no doubt that NYS should get on the better bucks bandwagon a little bit though, we already have AR's in a few counties but judging bylooks of PA this year, the whole state should have them!

Personally, if some redneck idiot is willing to shovel up a bloated roadkill, then proceeds to field dress the half-rotten carcass, and poke a broadhead through the ribcage... AND THEN has the stones to drag it to the check station to claim it as his own, and "earn" his buck tag - IMO he has earned it. LMAO
I think you guys are reading wayyyy too much into this.
Quite simply, this is Grade-A entertainment, and should be encouraged.

You want entertainment, they locked up a fellow somewhere up north have sex with road kill deer. Put you in a sell with him, that would be entertaining. lol

I'm a guy who registered a roadkill in my EAB unit about 3 years ago. On my way hunting one morning, a doe jumped out and I tried to stop but hit her, she was less than 200 yards from my stand. Dead doe, just like the DNR wanted, but not taken with my bow as I had hoped and I'm out $200 fora new grill on my truck. If you hit it with your car and can prove it, it should be fine to turn in.

rybo and quik... i betcha 100000s of hunters quit hunting in WI when they started their EAB system
and the state had to go completely broke due to the lose of license sales and paying for check stations
now i remember why i dont spend to much time "over there"
that is kinda funny though...i couldnt imagine gutting a road kill and trying to make it look like a legitiment kill lol.
stinks that they aired it on the news...really no need for that IMO..

I see it pretty much the same. A deer died, a deer was tagged. Buck earned. The taking it back and forth and dropping it off at the food pantry are other things entirely.
It's horn hunting that has caused this in the first place. Hunting needs to get back to what it really once was; Enjoyment and nurishment, not competition.

With the possible exception of the guy who hit it himself (sorry about the grill, man), this is nothing more than a cheater trying to beat the system. No matter what the rules, they will try to find a way around it. I know too many like that. They cheat the welfare system, they cheat the legal system and they cheat the hunting regs. Scum is scum and you can't change em.

Here is a problem with earn a buck. Hunter goes to the woods and sees nothing but bucks. This happens for the majority of the season and fustration sets in and then opporunity knocks. (Road Kill Doe). Now said hunter has his buck tag to go kill one of those bucks he has been seeing the whole season.
Is it right personally I don't care I wouln't do it but if someone alse does I could care less. There are still 2 deer out of the woods and if said hunter didn't take in the road kill there would only be 1. It kind of sounds like a win win.
