The season (a little over a week old) started out slow this year--Between part time job and the weather I only been able to set 3 times.The first ended the same way,3 hour set and right at black dark a doe and spotted fawn come in--Set for 45 minutes longer before they left-Third time I went to another stand got in about 3:30pm -Hot, Sweating like a tar keel-about 15 min later a squirel started chattering behind me, so I got everthing ready,Few minutes later I looked around to see this young doe coming in "Downwind"--she could smell me but couldn't tell where I was.
She came on in and started to feed and I started to draw my bow--She caught me--Seems like she stared and I held my bow at half cock for 30 minutes (more like 45 seconds)-she went back to feeding,I relaxed the bow,waited,then I tried again--same results--Ithen prayed "LORD HELP ME"--About time I said that a bird distracted her and she turned her head--The bow came to full draw-my pin set at 20 yds right behind the shoulder--My mind told me she is spooked "AIM LOW",,Dropped down to heart shot-Released and Whack---Spined Her!!
Ain't exactaly what I planned but the end results are the same!!
I then thanked the MAN upstairs,loaded another arrow,,Checked the time 4:02pm--Set back and relaxed--Another year not being skunked!!!
