Well we finally had a cool crisp morning and you could actually see your breath. Decided to hunt one of my favorite buck spots this morning with the wind just right, my son was 100 yards away where he got his buck last season. The turkeys were gobling all over
Well no bucks but the does were everywhere, i could hold back no longer, had to let one fly
. This one came in 18 yards in front of me and had looked at me once already 25' up [:@]She was moving at a fast pace and i was going to have to stop her for a shot, gave her a maah, she stoped, she looked up at me again, her back hair was tensed, i was already drawn and had the 20 yard pin on her, i released she tried to bolt sideways, the arrow struck her just slightly farther back than i like. i watched her run with tail down and stop 60 yards out. i got her in my range finder and watched for her to pile up, she did not after several minutes and walked into the thicket, now my heart sank, the shot did not look that bad. shot was at 7:45 i stayed in the tree till 9:00 got my son (he seen 4 huge does with no shot) with the way she acted, we went home and came back at 10:00. blood trail was scant for 50 yards then nothing. started a grid and my son found her at 11:00, he is the man, she had went about 100 yards.when i heard him voice gobling i knew he had found her.
i caughtthe oppositelung as she spun in her retreat. got he checked in, back home and butchered and on ice right now. now its time for some bone
when in dought back out!
