I'mbanking as much wife time as possible this week - hoping to drive her completely insane for the next week so that when the weekend rolls around, she'll beBEGGING me to get out of her hair andgo to Ohio and log some stand hours.
We've got a Halloween party (and PSU/OSU game) on Saturday night, then Sunday morning, I'm hoping to be notched into a nice piece of Buckeye pole timber at daybreak.

It’s a “soft” cutoff date, but usually its around Oct 26th or so. Last year I shot does on the 24th & 25th. The one on the 25th I watched her for about 20-25 minutes, before deciding it was “safe” to shoot her. A small buck had followed her in, but was more interested in the acorns than her. This year, I will shoot does this week, and MAYBE this coming Saturday if it is late morning.

Thanks, rybo. I think I'm going to play it by ear. It's going to HAVE to be a fringe area AND a "virtual" "slam-dunk" (10-15yd shot) for me to attempt it.
I've learned something about myself, this season. I've never shot one at this distance and had a tough recovery. Not surprising, huh?
