Wifes first hunt
#1
Well....I have been breaking her down to get out there and see what itis all about and today she made the trip. I set the ground blind up after the Saturday morning hunt because I dont have a double set to put her in. We got there early and she laid on the ground for about 45 minutes and took a quick nap. As soon as the woods started waking up I got her up. Soon after sun up she spotted a small yearling doe about 25 yards to our north but down wind of us. She started to move out of the way thinking I was going to shoot it and I would of had to shoot across her. I gave her the "let it walk" sign. About an hour later we saw a big doe make her way out of the corn but she went a ways away. Erica loved the scenes especially since all the trees here are in all their glory. For some reason the maples are screaming with color here in Ohio. It was nice for her to get out and get the itch. It was a perfect morning since she is not a fan of the cold but I had her covered up pretty good. I told her perhaps when turkey season comes around she should join us since it has alot more excitement. If some of you have not taken the wife I would recommend doing it, the one thing she said is "I never knew it was this involved." Now she knows why I take days off from work and refuse to do yard work in the fall. Give it a try fellas it may pay off........

I took my fiance out about a week ago and she got to see me shoot a deer with the bow. She was soo excited. She got to do her first hunt Saturday night. I was in the tree with her to do some of the coaching and what not. We didnt get anything but right before dark we had a 4 pt comeout into the field. She kept ranging him like a pro and reporting his distance. He never came closer than 80 yards. Oh well, theres always next time. She says to me in the truck later that it's totally different when you have the bow in you own hands and theres a deer in front of you.
