Anyone in Illinois seeing...

I saw a buck dogging does 2 weeks ago, it had no indication of the rut.
I'm suprised a people....bucks will chase does that are not in estrous just because...every year we get...
THE RUT IS ON..[8D]..just because a buck "chased" a doe. [&:] In PA, nothing as far as the does go....the does regulate the rut, not the bucks.....it'll be close to the same as it always is, maybe a week earlier but no more. It's NOT happening now.
Perhaps IL is an anomaly.

The only thing I seen was a small buck rubbing and licking some low branches. 30 min later larger buck came by and was not sounding to happy about it. Infact there was a doe going by when the little guy got done and he just looked at her and walked away.

Last weekend while in stand also saw youngbucks hanging with does, but just hanging out together. The storm's a comingin a big way, the deer might be flying if theyare out...

Around the 25 or so of October you should seem some of the bigger bucks coming out and the smaller bucks should be pestering the heck out of the does. Chasing shouldnt really start until about 5 to 7 days after that.
