Default RE: Anyone in Illinois seeing...

ORIGINAL: Rob/PA Bowyer

I saw a buck dogging does 2 weeks ago, it had no indication of the rut.

I'm suprised a people....bucks will chase does that are not in estrous just because...every year we get...

THE RUT IS ON..[8D]..just because a buck "chased" a doe. [&:] In PA, nothing as far as the does go....the does regulate the rut, not the bucks.....it'll be close to the same as it always is, maybe a week earlier but no more. It's NOT happening now.

Perhaps IL is an anomaly.
Rob, I like your answer. The deer aren't rutting here in IL either. Just as you stated, bucks will regularly chase does. I'm so tired of the "RUT" questions/threads. People, it will happen same time as always.... when the does go into estrous!!!!!!!!!!! By the way, I did see a buck chase a doe across a picked bean field about 10 days ago. Not only that, I had two 130"-150" bucks come into my rattling and grunting last thursday to that I couldn't close the deal on. Does this mean the deer are "rutting"?? NO it doesn't.
