I just bought a Lone Wolf Sit and Climb stand. I really like it, it's pretty much everything I was looking for in a climber. The only things I dont like are the cheap, very uncomfotable backpack straps and the rest/bar keeps loosening up even after I tighten the bolts down.
The straps- I'm using a set of straps from my summit climber for the time being. I'm looking at those padded straps for $14.00 on the Lone Wolf website. Do any of you use them or can you suggest something a little more comfy on the shoulders for those long walks?
The rest/bar- I've tightened it and it keeps getting loose again. Does anyone have a remedy for this? I was thinking maybe some medium grade locktite, not the high strength. Any ideas on this?
Thanks.

Yes, medium lock tite works well on the rail. You may also consider wrapping it with foam pipe insulation and then camo tape. It makes it much more comfortable while climbing and more quiet while packing it up.

Ok, I'll try that. I had to get used to siting on that bar. All I've ever used was hang climbers. I naturally tried to hand climb with it because thats what I'm used to. I can do it either way now.

There's a nice set of backpack straps for Lone Wolfs at www.graywolfwoolens.com

Thanks for the info Greg. You think those would be more comfortable than the Lone Wolf one's? They are neopreme. They sound good.

I like the straps i got from lone wolf, I walk some long distances and they're very comfortable. Just make sure you put the stand on right side up in relation to how you have your straps on, the other way wants to pull your shoulders apart, lol. The bar, i've never had a prob with, but I've noticed after climbing down that the screw knobs that keep the stand open loosen up while I'm either coming up or down. anybody else have this prob, and what do you do?

The rest needs work. I have a similar stand and replace/add somethings to make it right. I see the rest is not a tube but a bar. No worries there. The rail is a tube though ifI remember right. I filled mine with a nylon spacer to keep it from crushing, added nylon spacers and new bolts/locknuts/washers. The straps are like the belts, I can't believe for the price they aren't much better. Both for a price are an upgrade. Standard on less expensive stands. I don't get it.
