The General isn't a speed bow. Its supposed to be more of a "hunting" bow.

308 on the low side.
I last bought bowtech when they last made a fast bow....years ago it seems.
I still buy the old Bowtechs when I find them but as to today's offerings....I prefer Hoyt
(That's coming from a guy who was a Bowtech fan and doesn't own a Hoyt)

Get yourself a Guardian if you want speed and no hand shock. I had a 2002Patriot and could not believe the difference. Also the new Hoyt is pretty sweet.

Shot one today for the first time. The pro shop in Canon City (best shop in Colorado, IMO) had one as a demo. This was, without question, the quietest and most shock free bow I have ever shot. The 2007 Guardian was a new high water mark, and this one is even better. I fired four shots out of this totally unfamiliar bow - shafts touching. Can't hear anything except the sound of the arrow hitting the morrell bag target. No, I'm not selling my Hoyt. But this is a new standard in bow performance.

I just purchased on on Wednesday, which I really didn't need but it was pretty sweet. I have shot both my guradian and general side by side, my honest opinion is that both bows are equally quiet, no hand shock and minimal vibration. Both are great hunting bows. The guardian is a little quicker and there is not noticable difference on accuracy. If you like a shorter, slightly lighter bow the general is your choice. Both are tremendous hunting bows with plenty of punch and the deer wont hear nothing but the impact. I will add I have a STS on my guardian, so it's fairly comparable on setup. I'm probably taking my guardian on my Kansas trip, since I've had a bit more time to shoot it but will proabably finish my season up with the general at home.

I dont think you could go wrong with any bowtech. The general looks like a keeper to me.
