do you shoot button bucks
#22
I would not shoot one now. I have in the past by accident. If the person is young or unexprecined no problem. But if we want to see more bucks we need to let them go. Shooting a doe would be a better option.

I would never shoot a button buck, not enough meat and you could take a nice mature doe with much more and tastier too!

I killed one a few years ago cause i thought it was a doe. I dont like to shoot them and spikes with my rifle but I will take anything for my first bow kill. I also dont like to shoot does. My dad taught me that the thing to do was let smaller bucks and does past because you never know when the big boy is coming behind them. Just my opinion. I will say that the button buck was by far the best deer meat ive ever had.

Sure. Lots of reasons to do it. My favorite though is when someone gets ugly about it. Always been tempted to shot one in their honor, snap a pic and send it to them with warm regards.[8D]
I take what I want and I don't take kindly anyone who trys to make others feel ashamed for taking any legal game animal.[:@]To tell the truth I like hunting with people who haven't hunted much. They still have the right spirit about the whole experience. The smiles on their faces when they show their take and tell their storiesis priceless. The flip side is, I know another guy who has taken 2 deer this year, does nothing but complain. Just his way. He also would never take a lesser animal like a BB.
