my main goal in huning is to harvest a deer as ethically as possible. If gun season is in i am using my shotgun.

I've bowhunted during firearms season on many occassions and my main goal is to take deer as ethically as possible too. [:-]

I do. I usually see more deer because the orange army really pushes them around. Two years ago at my dad's property I hunted 10 times during bow season andonly saw 3deer. The opening day of gun season I counted 21 in the first two hours! It's too good not to be out there when the guns are going off.

Depends.
If I don't kill anything with my bow before gun season opens, then yeah, I'll gun hunt till I put some meat in the freezer, then I will go back to bowhunting.
If I kill 2 with my bow before gun season, then I will bowhunt the entire season.
I love bowhunting, but my #1 goal is to put meat in the freezer and if I'm not having any luck doing that with my bow, then I will go out with the rifle.

Yep. Here in Texas its too hot during the bow only season. I usually dont see any quality deer until rifle season starts. Last year I tagged all my deer 2 month after bow season

I've done it for years in Muzzleloader and firearms season. I figure all they do is move some deer around that might otherwise not come into my neck of the woods.
I'm almost thinking of taking out a muzzleloader tomorrow in the morning rain. But I know as soon as I do that nice deer will walk up at 20 yards and I'll say, "Why didn't I bring my bow"? That would be most depressing.
