I support them IF they are used as a learning tool by the thread starter and others.
Most often those people who will bash someone in a heartbeat on a forum hide behind the annonimity of the faceless Internet.
I agree with everyone having the right to thier own opinion...but if what you are saying to someone is not helpful maybe you should really be asking yourself why your saying it...and if thats the kind of person you want to be known as.

I will tell you that I feel that I have learned from it.
I have been able to take a step back and look at myself and my attitude towards hunting. Somethings we or I have just hadtaken it for granted. Once the BS starts rolling everyone forgets about the honor that is involved with hunting. I know Jeff has been humbled, I know how I have been humbled by Jeffs experience. Jeff is still fairly new to hunting, and I think he realizes that is isn't all cut and dry and it isn't that easy to walk out and "smack a nanny". I am for the posts, be it a train wreck or a bed of roses.

2. Poorly shot deer are seldom found when shoot with mechanical broad heads.
3.Poorly shot deer are seldom found when shoot with fixed blade broad heads.
4.Its harder to find fresh deer meat when hunting in 90 degree weather than it is to keep beer cold.
5. One dump truck can take out two doe faster than one bow hunter can.
Feel free to add to my list if you like.

The “Every Shot” threads were an idea I thought up a few months back. I thought I could learn from each arrow loosed….and I thought it would be interesting to see that someone would actually report on each one, honestly. I don’t think our internet personas match our real-life ones, sometimes. I wanted it to be “real”.
Little did I know it was going to be such a tough go. But…I have truthfully (sometimes painfully) told of each shot….and what ensued, afterwards and before. I learned some things….some others likely learned through my mistakes. The last thing I learned from them is…..I don’t need to keep doing so….if it’s simply a punch line in someone’s joke arsenal. Whatever happened to just skipping over a thread?
It was real, though. I appreciate all those who supported what I was doing….but I think (know) it’s run its’ course, for me. Back to hunting being “personal”. I found out how involving others in my hunting could be when I invited some guys to shoot does in my woods.A select fewunderstood and accepted, willingly.....others ridiculed the gesture. End result....I now hunt, alone.
Good luck to all. This can die, right here.

Jeff I'm sorry to hear of your decision to stop. I, as a 3rd year bowhunter myself, have found the posts informative and entertaining,(at times). I had empathy for you as I read your anguish at searching. I don't know.....I'll miss the posts.

I enjoy GMATT's threads. They show how passionate he is about our sport, and when he makes a mistake he openly admits it. I wish more people were like that. Keep doing what you are doing Jeff.

I personally enjoyed them, reading hunting stories is always entertaining, and frankly Jeff's honesty behind it all is commendable. Most people don't have the courage to admit when they are wrong, even if it is a rare occasion, and he was willing to share every small mistake that he made through EACH hunt.
