Front getting ready to hit - do I hunt or not?
We are suppossed to get some wind and thunderstorms soon. I saw lots of deer moving yesterday evening and I want to go out, but its 94 degrees and looks like its about to get ugly, do I go or just wait until tomorrow when the temps will be down about 25 gegrees from today? I dont mind rain but being in trees with high wind and lightning possible makes me think twice. But, what if, that big one walks by my stand, lol.

What I did last week was get ready, got to my spot, then sat in my truck. About the time the rain had almost stopped, I got out and got in the tree. The deer should start moving once it all slacks off...well assuming it does!

Already rolled through here. Strong winds, lightning and heavy rain then BAM sunshine! We headed out the next two days. We hunted this AM, saw the 5 and a cowhorn spike, doe and her fawn......then it was hot!
Seems nice out now. We're hunting two days both morn and even...can't wait to see the two even hunts.

That storm that Rob mentioned came through here last night.. it was almost 90 degrees when I got to my spot and hung my stand... An hour and a half before dark, it started rolling in (weatherman had said FIFTY percent chance... yeah, right!). I think the temps dropped 20 degrees in an hour, and I ended up getting SOAKED... It was raining so hard, I couldn't see 10 yards around me.
Nothing moved before or during the storm, in case you're wondering...

Whew!! Well, it was fun thats for sure, lots of wind, big lightning boomers and heavy rain. Stuck it out as long as I could til I actually felt the strikes were too close for comfort.Saw deer already in the field from my house. I ended up seeing around 30 deer, a few bucks. Temp went from 94 to 69 in about 20 minutes. Should be nice and cool the next few days. Time to get change out of these wet boxers before I get monkey butt!
