in you deer stand, has it ever cost you a shot opportunity? What I am talking about is .... have you sat in your stand, using your cell phone, or for GMATT, laptop , checking the threads and or e-mail, and it cost you a shot .....

Not yet but honestly Sept 16 when I killed my doe I was checking the packers score on my cell when the 4 doe's came walking up. They came exactly where I knew they would and right around the 6 to 6:30 time. Family and packers football the only thing that could possibly mess up a shot. When it comes to family that is ok though.

Why would one be on the internet while hunting, wouldn't you want to get away from that??? Thats why I go to the woods to get away from that kinda stuff, internet, cell phone and everyday worries! JMO!

It hasn't hurt or cost me a shot at all. I usually head into stand about 2 hours before I know the deer will start moving. I want to give the woods time to settle down and my internet on my cell phone is nice for helping pass that time. The greatest thing is checking weather.com and wunderground.com to see how the winds and temps are going to be.

Two years ago, I was in my stand -- had been there for a little over two hours -- it was a Thursday morning, and I was on my cell phone talking to my bud at work, explaining that I was "calling in sick - yeah, it's a dual case of buck fever and anal glaucoma (just couldn't see my ass at work today). Hey George, hold on a second...." Shot a nice doe, and needless to say, when I picked the phone back up, he was laughing is ass off!

edit: DO NOT use $ signs for S's to skirt the profanity filter. If it's allowed, it's allowed, if not the filter will catch it. I will start deleting threads for skirting the filter.
