Jusy wanted to post my first topic. Hi to all and good luck this season. Opening day was monday here in Illinois. I had to work. was going to go out this morning, but do to the wife having the stomach flu and the kids being off to there saturday games and such, I might have to wait till tommorrow. Unfortuntionately, The weather is hot like summer. Highs in the low 90's and the evenings are only getting down in the low 70's. This really sucks, but a friend of mine owns his own processing bus. and there have been some really big bucks killed this week. Don't know about you guys but the heat in a tree is killer. The last hour could be that moment. Suppose to cool down in the 60's mid-week. Hope its better where you hunt. Take care , Chaz in Illinois

Welcome to the site. Seems like most everyone is suffering from the heat right now. Cooler weather is coming.

Welcome to the forums Chaz. I agree, the heat is a show stopper. I saw one buck this morning, had him at 16 yards at 7:00 and then not another deer. Left the stand at 10:00...don't expect any deer movement until an hour or so before dark. Not sure I'm getting out today. The season's only a week old with high temps so I'm not in any hurry.
