Id say go with the 60-70 because that bow will turn down below 60 lbs prolly around 55 or maybe lower depending. Then you can keep workin it up to that mid 60s range as you get stronger. Your gonna have more arrow speed and more kinetic energy in yourarrow if you work up to that mid 60s range than if you stay in the 50s range. Youll be able to shoot more confident at farther dstances. This way wit the 60-70 you should be able to start pullin it in themid 50srange yet get your bow up in the 60s in no time. It doesnt take much just shoot2-3 nights a week till you start getting tired (but no longer, one you start getting tired quite, otherwise you'll pick up bad habits in your shooting),and your shoulder muscles with get there in no time. No I'm talkin peek draw weight. Most bows are rated like it says 60-70 or 50-60 but most of the time those bowspull less lbsand more lbs than what they are classified as. You can turn a bow all the way down (and all bows are a little differnet but) and it can pull 5lbs or more less than the min draw weight its ratedas and you can turn that same bow all the way up and it will pull more than the max weight its rated as. You wanna be carefull though not to turn the bow down to much cuz you can undo the limbsso you might want to have a person at the bow shop help you withturnin it down to its minimumand to crank a bow all the way up you dont want it to be turned down tight you wanna turn it down tight and then back it off half a crank. for hunting i would get the 60-70....if you practice a few times a week you will build them muscels up....and yes bows will go alittle less and alittle more...50-60 would be better for target shooting due to shooting lots...during hunting you will only pull it back once to shoot at an animal (other than practice)...i only have one bow i use 60 for 3d and 70 for hunting

im really not sure what to do or get im thinkin of the 60-70 but that just seems to much to be shooting like not drawing back wise just shooting 60-70lbs seems like over kill to me but i wouldnt know i have yet to shoot a deer yet

I would vote for 50-60. You can crank it up to #60 and kill anything in the lower 48 states easily. Being able to draw your bowcomfortably will spook less deer and increase your chances of making an accurate shot, which is all that matters. If you are sitting in a stand for a few hours and getting cold, you will appreciate a lighter poundage when the moment of truth comes. Too many guys are pointing their bows at the sky and grunting just to draw their bows back.
Contrary to what you read on this forum, speed is over rated. Accuracy is everything IMHO.
By the way, here in Canada we routinelykill moose with #60 and they are 5 times the size of most southern deer.

Kidd, go with the sixty to seventy an set it on about 65 you be alot faster an hit alot harder with your draw length. You shoot out farther with one pin. Get what you can for the money.

I think you are leaning in the right direction with the 50-60 choice. All bow shops are full of used bows in the 60-70 range that people bought and then found out they were overbowed. I would strongly suggest you find a shop that will let you shoot the bow set in both ranges. This will give you a good basis for comparison. borealboy is right....accuracy trumps speed anytime. It doesn't matter how fast your arrow is going when it misses the target. Good luck with whatever you get.
