Sometimes I go to the bow shop a few days before the season just for fun..the frenzy is great. You would think they were giving the junk away. I would not expect any differently but it is amazing how quickly they can sell a new bow with all the fixings and get someone out the door.
Sad part is many of those fools will score big due to that thing called "being Lucky".

A few years ago I had to buy a new bow just before opening day. My 10 year old Xi Legend Magnum limbs finally cracked. As well it looks like I'm buying stuff the day before opening day but where I live, opening day is the end of Aug but I don't actually hunt until mid Oct.

My shop owner has people ask him from time to time if he;ll sight their bow in for them. He always says yes.

WOW! Our season opens this coming saturday. I had to stop in Bass Pro Shop yesterdaypick up some scent stuff and a bowhanger. All I can say is......

There was a SWARM of people in the archery department. Tons of people looking at bows, buying bows, buying their arrows, etc.... I walked by one person talking to an employee. He asked him "about how many arrows am I going to need to shoot before I'm ready"?[:-] They had 10 or 12 Bass Pro employees running around like crazy. I tell ya it was an absolute madhouse. Looked like wal mart on black friday. I grabbed my goodies and got the heck out of there.
