Default Acorns for sale?

Is it possible to buy white oakacorns in bulk, say like 50 pound bags? Where would you get them? What's a fair price per pound? I'm sure there are legal considerations as well (baiting laws, etc).

We don't have many oaks around here and I'd like to scatter them around the property to attract deer to our small 20 acre lot.

We've planted a bunch of hybrid oaks specifically for the purpose of acorns, but those won't be mature enough to produce for at least 10 years. Just wondering if there are other options for acorns.

To be clear, I won't be hunting over a bait pile of acorns. I'd be scattering them randomly throughout the woods.

Much cheaper methods of baiting out there. I'd suggest planting some fruit trees or chestnuts or food crops.

No price but the seller is from Manistee, Michigan.

That's from googling "acorns for sale"...try other searches and see what ya come up with.

Edit: This is an old sale=\ but I don't know why they wouldn't have more this year...worth asking if you're serious bout getting some.

A typical mature white oak produces about 2000 acorns per crop. That's roughly 15 pounds worth of acorns per tree. From what I'm seeing on ebay, white oak acorns sell for about $1.50 per pound shipped to your door. So for about $20, I could have the equivalent annual acorn production of one mature white oak tree.

That seems better than paying $10 for a2 foottall potted oakand waiting 30 years for acorns.

I know corn is cheaper, but everybody around here has corn. I think deer prefer acorns over corn.

No doubt about it go for it.

Also look around the neighborhood.

I have 2 doctors offices with big oaks around their parking lots.

In the past I have gone over there and swept up near a 5 gallon bucketful on SUN afternoon

Only take a couple of minutes.
