Default Almost had a big doe tonight!

Well now that I got my buck I am working on filling the freezer. I came very close tonight. At 6:30 a large doe came out into the bean field and slowly grazed towards me. She finally got within range and stopped 30 yards away looking the opposite direction. I stood up drew back put my 30 yard pin on the sweet spot. I release when my 30 yard pin was exactly where I wanted it. I watched my arrow in slow motion going towards the deer. It was a perfect shot and I could see my white fletchings exactly where I wanted them to go. Then somebody hit play and I watched the doe drop and my arrow go right over her back. This deer had no clue I was their and was looking the opposite direction. My arrow was traveling at around 280 fps. Oh well it was an awesome experience.

Yup, almost. I've watched a buck drop out of my arrow at 285 (back then) at 19 yards. They are fast!...Well, actually gravity is fast..lol[8D]

When they seem to be tense, you can aim a bit low in the kill zone. But when they seem to be relaxed like you described . . . They're amazing animals with very quick reflexes.
