I was at my taxidermist today and I was looking through the book i stopped myself i said to him you know what i dont even know what i want to get done with this buck... i want something you never see other people with.... what can you do for me?? we got to talking and i finally did pick one. i just was at a loss for wich one to do, what about you guys how do you select your mount?? i like to be creative and be original. What about you guys. I hope to shoot a doe here before too long so i can get a grooming doe done.

Right now I think about where in my log home will it hang. That determines left/right look to him. Then I think about the hunt and how he came in and try to mount him like that. It tells a story. I do the same thing with my turkeys.

I do the same as Rob....find out wheres its gonna go and then decide from there.

im hoping to get my first bow buck this season....and if he aint a total runt, i will most likely have him mounted....i been browsing...i really cant decide. If i would get one. i want something kinda uneversal being 20...he will probably end up in a couple more houses...so deciding where he is going aint gunna do me much...

i REALLY like the idea of the plague that swings so you can change the direction hes looking...never seen it DONE..but seen the part to do it in a catalog. but then again i dont know that it would look "right..."

i too like originality...but thats kinda hard to do with a shouldermount. though my taxi is pretty good about throwin in a nice little twist or something...i will be pondering the same question here...id like to have ideas before the time comes
