Default What a night!! No kill!!

Me and my son took a stroll in the woods and setup on the ground near a popular trail with the pond near us. A doe came in and knew something was up. She turned and slowly walked out of there.

We got up and stalked her across the field. We got within 20yds but she never gave me a shot other than straight on with her looking at us or straight away.

But to stalk a doe up to 20yds away with a 7 year old! Man it was a GREAT night!!!

It feels great to have your son in the woods doesn't it. Great job he will remember it for a long time. There is no better place to take them then in the woods!!!!!

Nice hunt farm!!!!!

I remember once when the boy and I were out scouting a few years back when he was 6 years old. We spotted a doe and a fawn in the field feeding. We put the stalk on them, go real close, I then told my son to see how close he could get by crawling low to the ground. he went ahead of me and I watched, he got within 15 yards of the deer, when a bunch of turkeys took flight a few feet away from him after he spooked them. Scared the living bejesus of of him! He loved it!

Sounds like an AWESOME time!

Its always exciting to get the younger ones out, especially when theres action!

Im still dang young.....14, but i still want to get my 7 year old brother out in the woods with me some time. I just think it would be awesome. Especailly if we got to see something.

If only your son could have finished the stalking job himself you probably would have been successfull [8D]. You're lucky he didn't sauce you up for messing up his hunt.
