Funny. Neither do I

I guess you got a good set then. I guess I've seen to many stories about them on the boards to switch over just yet. Can't argue with the trauma it caused in that deer though. Nice shot

It's funny how a name and advertising can sell a product isn't it... If only Rocky Mountain would have changed their name to RAGE
I mean they had the 2" cut gator and the snyper way before this rage business. Looks like Rage bought some patent ideas fromRocky Mountainand cheapened them up a bit and advertised the heck out of them. I've been shooting the 2" cut gator for over 10 years so I've seen allot of holes like that. I love my gators but as with this rage you don't get near the penetration as you would with a traditional head when you hit bone such as an off side shoulder.
The old tried and true Rocky Mountain Gator.

I've shot Snypers since 01 shooting 5 bucks with them. I've shown my animals and commented on the holes. They (the company) didn't push and advertise the Snypers like the Rages. The Rages are the "in" broadhead right now. We cannot argue with the results and I honestly feel that any "horror" story or "failure" is a result of pilot error.
I have no reason to switch to the Rages over the Snypers at current time. The Snypers have a slightly smaller cutting diameter but the results are the saem because the entrance holes are usually wider than the actual cutting diameter because of the way they open.
This hole Jeff shows is the rule, not the exception when it comes to these heads. Thanks to 5Shot back in 2001, some of us are ahead in the curve.

That's what I meant, they went and bought up that technology from Rocky Mountain. Weird thing is thatRocky Mountainis still building the Snypers. Gander mountain had the Snypers on sale last month for $9.99 a three pack! And you can still buy the Gator XP from bass pro shop also.
I've read on a number of broadhead test forms were the RAGE,especially the 3 blade has failed miserably to different kinds of abuse.

Jeff: Great evidence of how devastating these heads truly are. Out of the 3 deer I shot with these heads last year, 2x of them had holes EXACTLY like that. It's funny.......just last week theres an entire thread of bashing on Rage from people that never tried them but once someone that actually tries them and puts up a picture like this that shows the hatchet wound holes these things create.........................and now allthe naysayers are silent. [8D] I wouldn't suggest or promote them unless I honestly thought they were the best thing for me.
For the record, these heads do not need the extra rubber bands that I choose to place on them. All 3 of the deer I shot at last year were killed with heads that didn't have rubber bands, it's just that they may open if you bump the head on something hard while on stand and the band makes that problem go away......if your careful with them I have no doubt they will do what they need to every single time........if it's closed when you release the arrow I have no doubt that it will stay closed until it hits.
Congrats on a fine animal and fine shot. I hope she tastes delicious!

that's incredible. I bought the 3 blades. I've shot 2 deer w/ them but I'm still not 100% on board w/ these heads. You have to keep a close eye on them. If you bump them on a branch you likely have to putthe blades back in place. I won't be adding a rubber band to them. You're just eating up ke by putting on the band. the whole point of these heads were that you don't loose ke.
