RE: What is it with Mathews???
ORIGINAL: 2droptine ORIGINAL: Rick James .......it's a great bow with a TON of marketing behind it. The Mathews line is the cash cow in the industry and love them or hate them..............if your a dealer the Mathews line can make or break your business. |
RE: What is it with Mathews???
ORIGINAL: MOTOWNHONKEY That Switchback is a hunters bow. Super smooth draw and quiet. I keep saying, the more I shoot this thing the more I like it. You're right Motown...this is a hunters bow. |
RE: What is it with Mathews???
Ive seen this I used to shoot at a store that used to be a mathews dealer but had to stop because they were unable to sell all the bows mathews makes you keep in stock so then the owner was reallt bitter towrds mathews. I no around here there are 2 kinds of shooters your either a hoyt or mathews shooter. people love them and hate them its like trucks i know people that love fords but hate chevys and visa versa

RE: What is it with Mathews???
Maybe he is a bitter ex-Mathews dealer...I don't know. Whatever the reason I think it's still pretty childish for aPro Shop dealer to act that way.
He sure keeps that "Mathews Solo Cam"neon in his window for everyone to see though. |
RE: What is it with Mathews???
I don't know...the last time I checked, theactual selling prices (notMSRP's)for all of the "top three" bow companies is pretty comparable, I don't think that's it. If I had to guess I think Motown and Rick James nailed it.;)
By me Drenalin $819 Vetrix $680 Sick. |

Are you saying that people want to buy Mathews bows but can't afford them, so they buy something else that theycan afford but really deep down wanted a Mathews so every chance they get they bash Mathews because they are pissed at them?? If not anda persondidn't want to buy it in the first place, why should anyone care what they cost? |
RE: What is it with Mathews???
products bring exactlywhat the market(customers) will pay.
No company sells their product for less just to be nice. If they could bring the same price in the market, they would. I come from a motorcycle industry backround. If Honda could sell their cruisers for the same price as Harley-Davidson does, they would. They can't, so they are less. Both are good bikes but one sells for a much higher price. Pretty much the same with any product. Sony vs Panasonic Hewlett Packard vs Dell Pepsi vs Store brand soda So on and so on. |
RE: What is it with Mathews???
People get on their high horse about lots of things. I don't see why bow brands would be any different.
Around here the price difference between a Guardian, Drenalin and Vectrix isn't all that much (at least relatively speaking) - probably only about a $50 difference. And people act like the Diamond Black Ice is a such a deal, well it is $650.00 bare bow, about $60 less than you can get an Allegiance. Matthews isn't priced that high compared to the others. If I preferred it I would have bought it. |
