Default Tru Glow LED sight.

Anyone used the Tru Glow sight that has the tiny LED built in? If so how did you like it? Do the batteries last long enough to leave it on in low light situations or do you wait and turn it on?

I've never used that site but I will say that I've had excellent customer service from Tru-Glo on other product I own.

I've had sights with the little blue LED that lights up the pins but I have always experienced a "washout" effect in that it makes it hard to see the target due to the light shining. What I've done in the past is to paint the light with a black Sharpie to mute the light. The batteries last quite a while due to the LED but I would recommended only putting it on when needed.

That being said, Tru-Glo puts out a far better product in the form of their Tritium lit pin. The fiber itself glows without the need for any batteries, there is no need to turn it on or off as it says on constantly and has a shelf life of about 10 years I believe....Check it out for yourself!

Thanks, that looks pretty cool. I'll have to see if they have them at Gander Mt. or Dicks.
Thanks again,
KP

I just wish they made the tritium pins in .019. That is the only thing that I really don't like about my truglo extreme is the .029 pins.

You took the words right out of my mouth....Infact I installed a set of normal fiber optic .19 pins to see how they will shoot. If I have problems in low light (I hunt mostly forest) I will at least switch back to the .29 for my 20yd pin.

If Tru-Glo made a .19 Tritium, I'd be all over it because I really like to .19 pin.......more accurate.

Yep I have my Tritium (25yd) set dead center of sight ring and then rest are .19 pins 40 50 60..... When its low light all I see is a glowing site ring with 1 pin (tritium) glowing in the center....found thats what works best for me in low light....
