I HAVE A BASIC SOLID LEAD STABILIZER THAT COST ABOUT $12 AND I'M THINKING ABOUT CUTTING THE ROUNDED END OFF AND THEN DRILLING AND TAPPING A HOLE AT THE END--THEN SCREWING IN ONE OF THE EXTRA LIMB SAVERS I HAVE FROM MY SPARE SET.I'M THINKING I CAN SAVE SOME MONEY BY DOING THIS.ANYONE THINK THAT IT WILL/WON'T WORK?ANY OTHER IDEAS?

It might work.....never tried it. If you want to make one, make it out of PVC pipe and fill it with hydrolic fluid....start long and trim it down to what feels comfortable.....I have seen that done. Otherwise, I would sugest spending the $32 and getting a Shock Blocker.
Good luck!

Or instead of a new stabilizer, you might get one of the Cobra Shockbusters and screw that to the riser and then your stabilizer to it. Those things really seem to help. The PVC idea is very good as well.
