I will buy a good book to take to the stand and read a paragraph here and there. Last year it was Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. Have not decided on my book for this year. I am thinking maybe Tom Clancy's Slinter Cell, or maybe Ghost Recon.

I read alot. I'm reading "Collapse" by Jared Diamond at the moment.

I also text my buddies to see if they are having any luck, also.

I always take a hand held game like battle ship or black jack, But I always end doing what I'm there for, looking for deer

I like to read a book when i am sitting all day. On short sits i have no problem staying focused. I have seen the Realtree guys using the hand held games and i think i might give that a try this year, since so many are trying it.

I must admit, for the first time this year...when whitetail hunting from a stand..not elk....I have been using my new cellphoneto cruise the internet..read articles, check the wind hour by hour..etc..

I like to sniff my farts. But when doing this you must use a safety harness because some will make you fall out ofyour stand.

No, Im just joking. What I usually do is hunt hard and what that means is always stay alert with high confidence. It only takes a few seconds for a monster buck to slip by you undetected so I am always scanning the surroundings hoping and waiting. It just seems like you see more when your not preoccupied with other things.:eek:
