You don't believe fraud (if proven) should be punished?

fraud? you've got to be kidding! everything in the hunting industry can be debated. nothing is "proven". what works for some may not work for others.I think I'm gonna sue tylenol because it's not really helping me with the headache that this thread has given me.if nobody puts an end to this out of control, sue my neighbor mentality, no one will ever want to invent and market anything for fear of being sued.

Wow..........a hard working guy who saves up some money to buy something based on fraudulent claims (alleged) hardly seems the same to me. How you see the corporation as the victim here is strange to say the least (if the accusations are proven to be true).

A lawyer friend once told me he could make anyones life misrable for a hundred and fifty bucks. Seems some petty individuals who can't weasel info out of scentlok have popped for the fee.

If the government won't stop them from making false claims and false advertising I guess these guys or gals thought they'd take care of it. Perhaps they did ask Scent Lok for a refund??? Who knows. At any rate, somewhere in here probably "Buyer Beware" will come in to play and it'll go away. Scent Lok has got big pockets and can drag this out for years. They can over load the system with truck loads of data, testimonials etc and just make a mess of it. I think it's snake oil but am not about to waste my time worrying about it. I simply refuse to buy anything with scent lok, blocker or whatever in it. I refuse to pay for a pair of boots that have it in. If I have to I'll go to an Army surplus store for camo. Just as long as it has some color and pattern it'll work. Heck, plaid works.

Its all in how they worded it. If they said something like "Helps reduce odor" instead of "Odor eliminating technology" they would have been fine. I personally think being sued is un-called for however and Im not a big fan of scent clothing. I know it has to help some.

You are missing the KEY point in all this..........the other companies are smart enough to know NOT to make those claims in print or even verbally. The imply their product will help........not insist it will as a fact.


Tylenol IS proven to do just that..........they couldn't and wouldn't claim to if it wasn't. That is a major role of the FDA.........to insure products do what they claim to. That is why herbals and supplements are not allowed by law to make health claims.........because it is not proven in scientific controlled studies.


Don't make claims that your product can't live up to and you will not get sued.

This is a class action suit, so they plantiffs will only be able to recover about 2% of total value of garments they purchases. The goal of a class action suit is to let everyone that purchased scent lok be able recover the money that is owed to them, not just the plantiffs.
