Default Great first hunt!

Well, I went outyesterday and hunted for the first time this year. I hunted those GIANT white oaks that I've mentioned before. They are pouring acorns!!! Unreal. This was my first hunt with my new Vectrix, and my first shot (28yrds)at a deer with it. So far, one shot one deer.
I wanted to mention another first, reguarding this hunt. I doubled lunged this doe, complete pass through, and she left literally no blood trail. None where she was standingwhen I shot her, no blood trail to the spot where she dropped. I've never experienced this before. I believe it was the angle that made the difference. Must have been internal blood loss.

I must be sleepwalking....I completly missed your sig. on the first post.

I use those as well and have never not had good blood with a shot like that....it's just one of those things.

Congrats on the doe. That's wierd about the lack of a blood trail. Maybe she was standing in such a way that the skin was pulled and when she returned to a running position the skin moved to close the holes. Dead deer recovered is all that matters though, good job.

Way to go early--good looking doe...you said the shot was 28 yds----If I can ask how high up the tree was you, and I take it that was the entry hole,Where was the exit hole??That may explain why no blood trail??? Nothing wrong with your shot I'm just curious!!!
