Default Encouraging... all the 1st time kills

I've gotta say congrats to all the first time kills that have been posted recently... you guys RCOK!!!!! I know i'm missing this bow season but hope to join the club next year with my own first time bow kill... if i can ever decide on which bow to get, there's so many nice ones out there... either way, i'm having a ton of fun tryin to figure it out...

on a lighter note, I took my son to the shop to get him fitted and he REALLY surprised me... he is gonna take a 22" draw and was able to easily pull back a 30lb bow and hold as if he were taking a shot, not bad for a 6.5yr old... he listened to the pro on form and proper things for shooting, he was very attentive and loved goin to the shop (he wanted to go back the next day and is totally hooked on this stuff)... he's got a hard-on for a diamond edge, he really liked that bow so I believe he'll be getting an Edge with 40# limbs dialed back to about 30ish of course for his first rig (I think santa will bring it to him, its so fun being a dad!!!)...

Thanks for the congratulations, if everyone feels like I do after their first deer they are hooked.

Hope your son enjoys a new bow, mine wants one and I trying to decide whether or not to buy him one. I want one I know he can use for deer later on, but I don't want to spend a fortune on something he may not enjoy in a year or so.

take him to a shop and let him try it... no question he'll be hooked and you'll have a new hunting partner... thats the part i'm lookin most forward to... someone had a great sig over at AT, teach your kids to hunt and you'll never have to hunt your kids. lots truth to that, in my experience, kids that get into fishin, huntin and the "great outdoors" generally stay away from drugs and have a greater respect for life and other people... encourage that behavior at any cost, it'll pay off in the long run and your kids will always remember what dad taught 'em...
