I found this buck onthe grounds where I work. How do you think he died?He was on his other side and this is how he looked when I rolled him over. Rigor had not set in yet. I found a little spot of blood up on the road and found him 35 yrds off to the side of the road.This was yesterday 9/7. He was still in velvet but was shedding.I think he was hit so hard it caved his leg under him and poped his shoulder right out of his body. His hide looks like a knife cut the shoulder out, very clean seperation. Maybe his shoulder blade cut it that way? How do you annalize this bucks death? BTW, pic was taken with my cell phone.

I would say maybe a truck clipped him hard at a slight angle jamming his leg back but not hitting his body . then ran on three legs till the trauma dropped him . I'm thinking he had to be hit with something hard and sharp that doesn't give much like a truck bumper
