come off the NW corner of the field. looks like theres more green field edge for a decint ways...then a tiny strip of woods between the field and river...thats where id be.

if not there, same set of woods just south west the woods bottle neck pretty good there.

hard to say...i cant tell what that green is. i can see the trees...but theres alot of a different green around the trees...if they are too trees, the fields to the east, theres a green finger going down between the fields...could be a potential spot...hard to say without knowing the green.

i would definently check out those 2 bottle necks though.

good luck...let us know what you find

I think it's going to be a tough place to hunt with the winds that come out of the south west .You might get lucky and enter along the east boundry If the deerenter from the north you will get away with it. If you cann't get in and out with out being detected ,The wiser deer will leave .Neaver trash a good spot by hunting it in the wrong wind .Goodluck D

Heres a couple places that look worth checking out. If you just acquired permission on this place i would almost want to wait until mid-october and do a little scouting, then hang stands. Good luck!

Man, you got that right. I think there is quite a bit of scrub brush there.....Possible bedding?? I plan on only hunting this spot w/ a north something wind......East would probably work as well, but south and west are out......

I'm pretty pumped about this spot though......It's prime river bottom, and this bottom is absolutely huge! There is very little wooded area there......And a ton of crops.....I love hunting river/creek bottoms......And, I get off work at 3:30, I can be in the tree by 4.....it's litterally 2 miles down the road from where I work...

Exactly Michael, you definately marked the one I was talking about, the pinch point in the woods, the middle two dots...good choice.

MO, I wouldn't rule out that island either, a great buck bedding area...watch the river on the off chance scouting. Do like Germ, go in by boat if necessary and allowable/accessible.

I like hunsuckers spots, + one right along river. I have hunted river bottoms for 23 years now. One thing i have learned bucks like to run along the river during the rut. Also like to bed down along the banks also.

Here is the biggest issue, getting to the spots without spooking deer. If you can take a boat to the stand I would suggest doing so in the mornings. The deer will be out feeding and you can sneak in behind them.

Find a spot close to the river and a pinch point, have itso you can shoot the funnel and any deer that is between you and the river. Have the river 20 yds behind you. Get high in the tree, this will help with the wind. If one gets behind you, you will not be winded. Your scent will shoot right down the river.

U talkin about the island on the river? You really think there would be deer out in the middle of the Missouri River? I don't say that condecendingly, but intrigued.....I would never guess in a million years deer would swim the river......Though they would certainly be secluded...

I wish a boat was an option......It's not though....That would be the very best.......Unfortunately the only access is the road to the extreme south......

The delima of deer feeding in the fields is why I will only hunt this spot in the evening......And only w/ a north wind. I just won't be able to get in there any other way I don't think.......What I'm banking on, and I obviously don't know much, is that most of them will be bedded in the big chunk of woods to the east, right on the bend in the river.....That's what I'm hoping anyways......

It's a challenging spot, to be sure......But I figure it should be dynamite the first week of November...
