that's not the point Danny the feeder is not in question. it's the fact that the deer is odiously tame of some kind even if they visit the feeder all the time there is no way he could just walk up to it and shoot it from 10 yards. I'm all for kids hunting but this is a little much.

I hear ya. No doubt was that deer not worried about the kid. Is it really that much different though than if that was not a tame deer, that feeder went off like clockwork every day. Deer came in every day. but this time you set up your blind 10 yards away in those bushes?. So the deer is not tame. It's still an easy kill with no real skill required. So is it really that much different?
Believe me i didnt like the video. I dont have a problem with baiting or feeders. I'm just saying that in some situations shooting over bait is not that much different

How would everyone have viewed that video if the kid was sitting in a ground blind in those bushes 10 yards from that feeder?
Look, i don't have a problem with anyone hunting over bait, a food plot whatever. However as dumb as this video looked why would someone who hunts over bait have an issue with this just because they choose to do the same thing from a blind or treestand?

If the kid was in a blind it would show that the deer are at least similar to the ones I hunt where the sight and smell of a human sends them running. This set up shows that this deer isn;t afraid of people at all. Its like killing a cow when its feeding. The bad part is that this guy is calling it hunting and introducing his kid to it as hunting. All it is is target practice at a live animal. It puts a bad light on hunters and hunting. You can't blame the kid because it isn't his fault he was raised by someone who's never heard the words ethical hunting.
As far as the kill. Obviously the bow is under weight and the only thing that killed the deer was the arrow flopping making that huge hole in the hide.

I'm appaled at this intro to hunting... I've got a 6.5yr old boy i'm begining to teach about hunting and the ethics that go with it... trying to point out that its not the kill that's important, its the hunt... my son will NEVER experience hunting like that...
